This page explains what the app stores and how we use it.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create a Weino account, we collect:
- Email address
- Username
- Password (encrypted and hashed)
- Profile picture (optional, stored securely) - Profile pictures are only accessed when you explicitly select and upload an image. We do not access any other photos or images from your device.
- Governorate, city, country, and timezone (for bookings in Egypt)
- Language preference (Arabic, English)
- Device platform (iOS, Android) for analytics and optimization
- Authentication provider (email, Google, Apple)
1.2 Booking and Appointment Data
To operate bookings we collect, for example:
- Bookings (time, status, amount, service or venue, branch)
- Working hours, breaks, and booking settings
- For professionals: business name, category, location, services and prices
- Professional application documents when required (e.g. ID, commercial register)
1.3 Payments and Wallet
- Payment transactions via Fawaterk — status, amount, and reference
- Professional wallet: platform fees due, transfers, settlement history
- Client booking wallet balance where prepaid mode applies
- Payout details for professionals when configured
1.4 Communications and Notifications
- Messages related to bookings or support when you use those features
- Push notifications (FCM) for booking confirmation, reminders, and service updates
1.5 Usage Data
- App usage patterns and features used
- Device information (OS version, app version, device model)
- Platform information (iOS or Android)
- Last active timestamp (for account activity tracking)
- Crash reports and error logs
- App performance metrics
1.6 Authentication Data
If you sign in with Google or Apple we receive your name and email for authentication only. We do not access your calendars or other account data.
1.7 Location Data (Optional)
Location sharing is optional and disabled by default:
- If enabled, we may collect approximate location data
- Location data is only used for location-based features (if implemented)
- You can disable location sharing at any time in settings
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Bookings: Show slots, confirm bookings, cancellations, and reminders
- Payments: Process prepaid payments via Fawaterk and professional wallet settlement
- Professional accounts: Review applications, manage branches, and fees
- Support and security: Respond to inquiries and prevent fraud and abuse
- Improvement: Aggregated analytics to improve performance and experience
3. Information Sharing
3.1 With Other Users
Within a booking, clients and professionals may see:
- Name, profile picture, and contact details needed for the booking
- Appointment, service, and venue details
- Booking status (pending, confirmed, cancelled, completed)
3.2 With Third Parties
We do NOT sell your personal information. We only share data with:
- Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, cloud storage, and push notifications.
- Fawaterk: Electronic payment processing for bookings and platform fees when you use that service.
- Google Sign-In: Authentication when you choose Google sign-in
- Apple Sign-In: Authentication when you choose Apple sign-in (not for in-app subscriptions)
- App stores: Apple App Store and Google Play for app distribution only.
4. Data Storage & Security
- Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Sensitive data is also encrypted at rest.
- Cloud Storage: Data is stored securely on Google Firebase servers, which comply with industry-standard security practices
- Password Security: Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. OAuth tokens are stored securely.
- Access Control: Strict internal access controls to your data. Only authorized personnel can access user data, and only for support purposes.
- Message Security: Booking-related messages are stored securely and only accessible to the client, professional, and support when needed
- Profile Picture Security: Profile pictures are stored securely in Firebase Storage with appropriate access controls. Profile pictures are only accessed when you explicitly select and upload an image through the app. We do not access any other photos or images from your device without your explicit permission.
- Regular Security Audits: We regularly review and update our security practices
5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
Weino uses the following technologies:
- Firebase Analytics: Aggregated usage analytics to improve our services.
- Local Storage: Device cache to improve performance.
- Push Notification Tokens: FCM tokens to deliver service notifications.
You can control some of these through your device settings, but disabling them may affect app functionality.
6. Your Rights & Choices
6.1 Access & Update
You can access and update your account information anytime in the app's Profile section.
6.2 Delete Your Account
You can permanently delete your account from Settings > Delete Account. This will:
- Remove all your personal information
- Delete your profile picture from our servers
- Cancel pending bookings where applicable
- Delete booking history and related support messages
- Delete your FCM token and disable push notifications
Note: Some information may remain in backups for up to 90 days, but will be permanently deleted after that period.
6.3 Marketing Communications
We do not send marketing emails. All communications are service-related (booking confirmations, reminders, account updates).
7. Data Retention
- Active Accounts: We retain your data as long as your account is active and you use the service
- Inactive Accounts: Accounts inactive for more than 1 year may be archived
- Deleted Accounts: Data is permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion request
- Messages: Booking-related messages are retained while the booking is active or for support purposes, then deleted or archived per our retention policy.
- Backups: Backup copies are deleted within 90 days of account deletion
- Analytics Data: Aggregated, anonymized analytics data may be retained longer for service improvement purposes
8. Updates
We may update this page when the app changes. Important updates are announced in the app.
